• Model STD Heaters are the simplest catalytic heater. They have no safety shutoff valve or special junction box and are typically use in outdoor locations.
• Model SFT Heaters are rated by Factory Mutual for use in Class I Division 2 environments. In order to be so rated, they must be equipped with a thermocouple and shut off valve, whose function is to positively shut off gas to the heater should the catalyst bed fall below the point of autocombustion.
• Model CGA Heaters are configured essentially like Model SFT heaters with the additional requirement that they employ an explosive proof junction box and must come supplied with a low pressure regulator as part of the assembly. CGA heaters are rated by the Canadian Standards Association for use in Class 1 Division 1&2 environments.
